I planned to leave at 8:00am on Monday morning. This, however, was delayed do to the fact that I had not yet packed my car. My amazing father came all the way down from Maine to be at my apartment for 8:00.
I realized that I can only get done what I can get done.
"This is an adventure. Stop making so many damn rules."
I got on the road at 12:00pm on the dot. This was my view for the next 3-4 hours until I hit CT/NY
"How many podcasts can I listen to before I go mad?"
The rain started at 5:00pm and never really stopped from there. I got really lucky, as the storms were much worse 200mi south.
Still driving and started to get really tired around 7:00pm. Cranked up some tunes and who better than JAY Z to get the blood moving again
I was in the home stretch and needed a "pick me up"... but not this kind. Grabbed some awesome beef jerky and dropped the hammer until I arrived at 11:39pm in Yorktown, VA.
Side note: Beef Jerky has a cult following in rest stops. There was literally a "Meat Shrine" built into an entire aisle of jerky.
Great first day! Total time on the road 11h39m.
